Matt Edwards

Finding out what’s around the next corner or at the top of the next mountain has taken Matt to some of the most remote places on the planet.He has been organizing and conducting custom adventures for guests from around the world, for over a decade.

During this time he has led expeditions to places such as Antarctica, Fiji, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Greenland, Iceland, Kamchatka, Alaska, and Northern Canada. Matt has a genuine passion for adventure, a wicked sense of humour and a love of life. It is his energy, enthusiasm and the experiences that he provides that keeps guests returning time and again.

 

Matt’s Certifications Include:

  • Ski Guide- Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG)
  • Sea Kayak Guide- Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of British Columbia (SKGABC)
  • Surf Instructor- International Surf Association (ISA)
  • First Aid – Wilderness Medical Associates
  • Operations level 2- Canadian Avalanche Association(CAA)
  • Search and Rescue Incident Command training, Emergency response training (SAR)

When not on expedition he also works as a heli- ski guide with Last Frontier Heli Skiing and teaches the surf and sea kayak guiding courses for Thompson Rivers University’s Adventure Programs.

 

Angela Bueckert

Angela thrives on the physical challenge of self-supported trips and sharing new places and experiences with her guests. Angela’s enthusiasm is ever-present. Her drive to explore enables all those with her to experience these places with curiosity, fun and a sense of accomplishment.Angela has a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management, and a Diploma in Adventure Tourism, both through Thompson Rivers University.

Angela has been guiding water-based expeditions worldwide for over fifteen years. She has guided canoe trips in Northern Canada, sea kayak expeditions in Iceland, Greenland, Palawan, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Antarctica, South Georgia, The Falkland Islands, Alaska, BC, Svalbard, Myanmar, and Kamchatka. She’s also led whitewater kayak expeditions in Asia and ski touring trips throughout British Columbia. Angela has a passion for multi-day expeditions around the Globe.

Trip Safety

The only thing we care about more than having fun on our trips is safety. Our staff have the highest level of certifications and training available in the guiding industry. We personally vett all local staff for experience, safety and their knowledge of the local environment and only work with the very best.

Safety Equipment for all kayak and ski trips includes Full First Aid Kit, Satellite phones, Inreach, VHF marine radio, and Emergency Response plans for each destination.

Safety Equipment for heli ski trips: Guests provided with Avalanche Airbag backpacks, new 3-antennae transceivers, probe, shovel and radio for communication with guides.

We can ensure you will be in good hands on an Expedition Engineering adventure.
